Tahmid Hasan  The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes established around 2000 years ago during the Han Dynasty of China. China’s imperial envoy Zhang Qian played a vital role in establishing the Silk Road, that linked China to Central Asia and the Arab world.
Silk being one of the most important exports of China influenced the naming.The road influenced the development of the region for hundreds of years by creating a huge impact on trade and commerce.

সুবাহ সামাররুক সেমন্তী  একাত্তরপূর্ব পাকিস্তান রাষ্ট্রের দুই অংশ, পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে কেবল যে ১৩০০ মাইলের ভৌগোলিক দূরত্ব ছিল, তা নয়। এই দুই অংশের মধ্যে অর্থনৈতিক ব্যবধান এবং বৈষম্যও ছিল প্রকট। ১৯৪৭ থেকে ১৯৭১ পর্যন্ত ২৪ বছরে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের চাপিয়ে দেওয়া বৈষম্যের ভারে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের অর্থনীতির মেরুদণ্ড গুঁড়িয়ে যায়। বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয় এর পেছনে পাকিস্তানের এই দুই অংশের মধ্যেকার পর্বতসম অর্থনৈতিক বৈষম্য বিরাট প্রভাব রেখেছে। পাকিস্তান আমলের বিভিন্ন অর্থনৈতিক ডাটার মাধ্যমে এই বৈষম্যের প্রকৃতি তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করছি।Rafia Nishat  Remember the early 90s?
