GREETINGS FROM ECONOMICS STUDY CENTER (ESC)!
It is known to all that the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka, is as old as the university itself. Since its inception in 1921, it has been contributing in several areas of economics and other social sciences. The Department has a reputation for outstanding teaching and research and the faculty members have worldwide recognition and appreciation for their academic activities. Many alumni of this Department are working in different government and non-government organizations in the country as well as in many reputed Universities of North-America, Europe and Australia. The Department offers an undergraduate degree program leading to Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) and a graduate program leading to Master of Social Sciences (MSS) in Economics. The BSS program spans four years and the MSS spans one year.
Economics Study Center (ESC) is the official student chapter of the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka. It represents the entire student body of the Department, and is responsible for promoting economic and business thinking, and facilitating relevant programs. It is dedicated to help the students to explore the discipline of the economics from a wider and a pluralistic perspective. The people from ESC organize different workshops, participatory discussions, seminars and symposiums from the students of the department as well as selected from outside.
