Speakonomics is an intra-department presentation competition arranged by Esc for the students of the Economics Department to enhance their presentation and speaking skills. This year the third edition of the intra-department presentation competition "Speakonomics" took place successful on the 20th of November, 2017. In an intense battle of words, wits and visuals, Team "The Perfect Substitutes" emerged as the champions of Speakonomics 3.0. "Team Ecotech" was named first runners-up, and "The Positive Nudge" earned the position of second runners-up. All three teams were presented with certificates, crests of honor and prize money worth BDT ten thousand in total.
This year's presentation topic was to identify and analyze the three SDGs where Bangladesh lags behind the most, and proposing realistic policy solutions. The champion team consisting of Tahmid Hasan, Rafiul M Chowdhury and Maisha Tahsin Kabir Lazina, focused on the SDGs "Affordable and Clean Energy", "Decent Work and Economic Growth" and "Reduced Inequalities". The moderator of ESC Prof. Dr. M M Akash, Associate Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Assistant Professor Sheikh Jafar Emran were the adjudicators in the suspense-filled final round which was graced by Dr. Atonu Rabbani as a guest.
