EconDu Day- 2017

EconDU Day started as a small initiate to bring together all the students of the department and to celebrate ourselves but on the second year around it turned into something much bigger . With the participation of all the talented beings of economics department, this year’s EconDU Day was nothing but grand.
EconDU day2017 took place on 25 August, 2017. The day we all have been waiting for past one year came back to us once again. Last year’s EconDU day was farewell and fresher’s as well as the cultural function. The day we all have been waiting for past one year came back to us once again on 25th August, 2017. Hence the Economic Study Centre prepared small gifts for both the parting batch and new one as a token of love and appreciation from the department. ESC and their organizing team did everything to make sure this day remains as a memorable one for everyone.
On the day of the event, the whole TSC was in the festive mood. The festivity started from the very early in the morning with the arrival of the students. The function started with the welcome speech of our Former President Wasik Sajid Khan whose immense hard work has ensured the success of the program that it was. After the speech the token of appreciation were given to the honorable guests by Wasik Sajid Khan (Former President), Semab Rahman (Former General Secretary) and Limon Abdullah ( Former Treasurer).
The event was graced by the presence of our honorable guests Prof Wahiduddin Mahmud, our former Chairman Dr Nazma Begum and our honorable club moderator Dr. M M Akash. Their kind words towards the program made it a more joyous occasion. The inauguration program ended with the inauguration of ‘Ceteris Paribus’ the first ever publication of ESC.
The main event started with a tribute for the two brilliant students, Ahmed and Nirjhor.The TSC auditorium was booming once the cultural event started. The multitalented people of the economics department left everyone captivated with their performances. Music, dance, drama and ramp- these people gave their best in everything and made this event a huge success.
But the event did not end here. Bir, Shohor Bondi and Krishnopokkho took over the stage after the cultural segment and a ravishing concert started. But the best part came in the last as one of the most popular bands of Bangladesh, Chirkutt came on to the stage.
EconDU Day 2017 will remain as a memorable day for most of the people of the Economics Department. We cannot thank enough the Executive Committee of 2016-2017 who have worked tirelessly to perfect this event. On a recent time when security has become a tough question, the organizing team made sure that no such hinder takes place making it safe and successful event.
