Each year, ESC publishes Bangladesh Students’ Digest on Economics and Development (BSDED), a student journal showcasing research papers written by undergraduate and postgraduate level students. Authors also get an opportunity to present the selected papers at the annual Bangladesh Economics Summit organized by ESC in the presence of distinguished guests.
Research papers can be on any topic related to the economics, development, business or social sciences fields. Papers need not be bound to any one theme, but could also be at the intersection of two or more thematic areas listed below:
1. Economic growth, development strategies, macroeconomic policy, public finance 2. Accountability, governance, power structures within organization, society or state 3. Trade, investment, economic integration 4. Financial markets, digital finance, financial literacy 5. Labour markets, workers’ rights, informal economy, MSMEs 6. Poverty and inequality, vulnerability, food security, social protection 7. Rural economy, agriculture, local infrastructure, local governance 8. Migration, remittance, brain drain, forced migration 9. Health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene 10. Education, human capital development, youth, leadership 11. Innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, artificial intelligence 12. Gender dynamics, gender equity, socio-economic empowerment 13. Green infrastructure, sustainable cities, energy economics 14. Choice, preference, behavioral economics, behavioral public policy 15. Covid-19 and economy, sectoral impacts, recovery
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Eligibility: Entries from only undergraduate and Masters level students will be accepted.
Deadline: The last date for abstract submission is Thursday, July 30th, 2021 and the final submission for this year’s edition is Friday, August 20th, 2021, 11:59 p.m. Any submissions after that will not be considered for review.

Regulations for Research Papers:
1. Font type: Times New Roman 2. Font size: 16 for section headings, 14 for sub-headings, 12 for text, 10 for footnotes 3. Bold and italic are accepted 4. Line spacing: 1.15 5. Paper size: maximum 5000 words 6. Page numbers: top-right 7. Color: black and white only 8. Name the file in the format “FirstNameLastName_BSDED2021”. For example, if your name is ABCD, format the file name as “ABCD_BSDED2021” 9. A research paper should contain the following sections: Abstract (200 words), Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Conclusion and Reference 9. For referencing, Harvard style should be followed 10. Cover page should include the name of the author, name of institution, paper title, course, year of study, contact number and email-id 11. The research papers will be considered for publishing only after being reviewed by the editorial board 12. Plagiarism of any kind is strictly prohibited 13.
